In second grade the shift from learning to read to reading for meaning often begins! The books found here will be enjoyed by ages 7-8 transitioning to chapter books.
Nonfiction is a great option for reluctant readers or those who need a subject of high interest to reel them in. The picture books below can be shared as classroom read-alouds or enjoyed independently.
